The Material Controller will be responsible for core store activities, including FIFO (First In, First Out), stock management, goods receipt notes (GRN), issuance of shortage lists, and verification of material quantities. Additionally, the Material Controller will prepare reports for monthly closing of material receipts, manage GRN processing and invoice dispatch, maintain records of returnable gate passes (RGP) and non-returnable gate passes (NRGP) on a daily basis, and prepare E-way bills for material transportation.

Responsibilities:

Store Activities Management:

  • Oversee store activities, including FIFO, stock management, issuance of shortage lists, and verification of material quantities.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory management procedures and best practices.

Monthly Material Receipt Reporting:

  • Generate reports for monthly closing of material receipts and submit them to the finance department for reconciliation and financial reporting purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records of material receipts and ensure timely reporting to finance.

GRN Processing and Invoice Dispatch:

  • Prepare goods receipt notes (GRN) for received materials and verify them against purchase orders.
  • Dispatch invoices to the head office for payment processing upon verification of GRN.

RGP and NRGP Record Keeping:

  • Record returnable gate passes (RGP) and non-returnable gate passes (NRGP) on a daily basis, maintaining accurate records of material movements.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure proper documentation and tracking of material transfers.

E-Way Bill Preparation:

  • Prepare E-way bills for the transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely dispatch to logistics providers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in material control, inventory management, or store activities, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in store management systems and inventory control procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying material quantities and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of SAP software, financial reporting processes and familiarity with GRN processing and invoice verification.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to material transportation and E-way bill preparation.
